Eight field fires reported in Washington County Saturday

WASHINGTON COUNTY - Area fire departments were busy on Saturday, March 7, as eight fires were reported, according to the Washington County Communications Media Report.
At 9:26 a.m. Saturday, the Crawfordsville Fire Department was dispatched to a field fire in the 3200 block of Vine Avenue. At 11:11 a.m. the Brighton Fire Department was requested as mutual aid with the Lockridge Fire Department for a field fire at 136th Street and Tamarac Avenue in Brighton.
The Washington Fire Department was dispatched to a fire near a pond at a resident's home in the 2300 block of 220th street in Washington at 12:17 p.m. and at 1:05 p.m. the Wellman Fire Department was requested as mutual aid by Iowa County for six hay blames on fire in the 3000 block of V Avenue in Wellman.
The Wellman Fire Department was dispatched again at 1:12 p.m. along with the Kalona Fire Department, Williamsburg Fire Department and North Keokuk Fire Department to an out of control grass fire in the 3000 block of U Avenue in Wellman.
The Brighton Fire Department and Wayland Fire Departments both responded to an out of control grass fire in the 1200 block of Walnut Avenue in Brighton at 2:39 p.m. At 5:28 p.m. the Brighton Fire Department was called to another field fire in the 1500 block of Walnut Avenue. At 8:08 p.m. a third grass fire in the 1400 block of Tamarack Avenue in Brighton was responded to by the department.
Gage-I think this info is pertinent, I just don't know how to adjust my headline and lead.
KCII Radio reported a fire at its building Sunday morning beginning about 6 a.m. A mattress was fully engulfed in the alley behind the building causing the building's electrical panel to catch fire.
The Washington Fire Department responded to the scene and caused to the station to be temporarily off air Sunday morning, as reported by KCII.
