According to the unofficial results of the special election held Tuesday, April 2, the Winfield/Mt. Union School District voters narrowly rejected a bond referendum to make school improvements.
The results show that out of 1,136 registered voters, 388 votes were cast. Of those votes, 223, or 57 percent, voted to approve the measure, while 165 voted against the measure. The measure needed a 60 percent supermajority to be approved.
The Henry County Board of Supervisors will canvass the results during its April 9 meeting and release the official results. For more information on the election, see the April 3 edition of The Mt. Pleasant News.
