Elizabeth E. Parriott, 88, of Mt. Pleasant, died on Thursday, April 13, 2017, at New London Specialty Care.
Open visitation will begin at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, April 19, 2017, at the Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 1 p.m., at the Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel, with Rev. Mike Hess of the Calvary Baptist Church officiating. Elizabeth E. Parriott, 88, of Mt. Pleasant, died on Thursday, April 13, 2017, at New London Specialty Care.
Open visitation will begin at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, April 19, 2017, at the Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 1 p.m., at the Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel, with Rev. Mike Hess of the Calvary Baptist Church officiating. Parriott was born on Feb. 6, 1929, in Bayard, Neb., the daughter of William and Maude (Triplett) Koros. On Oct. 11, 1946, she married Lyle R. Parriott, Sr., in Bridgeport, Neb. He preceded her in death.
She worked as a certified nurse?s assistant at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center and the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, in Iowa City, for many years. She retired from that position.
She was an active member of the Calvary Baptist Church.
She enjoyed music, singing, playing various musical instruments, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Parriott is survived by her three sons, Lyle (Janet) Parriott, Jr., of Mt. Pleasant, Cliff (Bonnie) Parriott, of Davenport, and Will Parriott, of Washington; three daughters, Jennie (Gary) Dorsch, of Pinewood Springs, Colo., Judith (Bill) Streit, of Cedar Rapids, and Joanna (Michael) Shaff, of Westminster, Colo.; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lyle; one brother, George Koros; two sisters, Betty Fox and Violet Parriott; and one step-sister, Ruby Mueller.
