Elva Frances Kellogg, 88, of Morning Sun, died on Friday, Nov. 20, 2015, at the Morning Sun Care Center.
The funeral ceremony was held at 10 a.m., on Monday, Nov. 23, 2015, at the Centenary United Methodist Church, in Morning Sun, with Rev. Sue-Ellen Sherman officiating. Elva Frances Kellogg, 88, of Morning Sun, died on Friday, Nov. 20, 2015, at the Morning Sun Care Center.
The funeral ceremony was held at 10 a.m., on Monday, Nov. 23, 2015, at the Centenary United Methodist Church, in Morning Sun, with Rev. Sue-Ellen Sherman officiating. Burial followed at the Winfield-Scott Township Cemetery, in Winfield. The family met friends from 6 to 8 p.m., on Sunday, at the Hagele and Honts Funeral Home, in Morning Sun.
A memorial fund has been established for the benefit of the Centenary United Methodist Church. Condolences may be given and viewed at www.hageleandhonts.com.
Kellogg was born on Aug. 19, 1927, in Henry County, the daughter of Frank and Maude L. Coppock Wiggins. She married Billy U. Kellogg on Oct. 15, 1947, at Sigourney. She graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School and attended airline school in Kansas City.
She had worked at the Henry County Courthouse, was a homemaker and farm wife.
She was a member of the Centenary United Methodist Church.
She enjoyed watching her children, grandchildren and great- grandchildren in school activities and sports. She also enjoyed dancing, bookkeeping and camping at the Iowa State fair.
Kellogg is survived by her four children, Sharon (David) Burk, of Mt. Pleasant; Deanna Connolly; Steven (Rosemary) Kellogg; and Dana Royer (Dan Wyss), all of Morning Sun; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; five step-great- grandchildren; a half-brother, Franklin Wiggins, of Havana, Ill.; and a step-mother, Evelyn Wiggins, of Havana, Ill.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Billy.
