Erma M. DeRosear

Erma M. DeRosear, 94, of Sunnybrook in Ft. Madison, formerly of Donnellson, died Thursday, March 26, 2015, at the Ft. Madison Community Hospital.

Friends may call after 1 p.m., Monday, March 30, 2015, at the Schmitz-Lynk Funeral Home in Donnellson. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. that evening at the funeral home. A private family graveside service will be held at Tuesday, March 30, 2015, at the Primrose Cemetery, rural Primrose.

DeRosear was born March 29, 1920, in Primrose, the daughter of Lawrence and Ada (Lauer) Trabert. On Aug. 8, 1943, she married Harley William DeRosear in Primrose. He preceded her in death. On Jan. 12, 1992, she married Darrel Cecil in Farmington. He also preceded her in death.

DeRosear worked at the Donnellson Post Office and at her home, providing for her family. She enjoyed genealogy, rock collecting and spending time with her grandchildren.

DeRosear is survived by two sons, Doug (Connie) DeRosear, of Ft. Madison; and Dennis (Peggy) DeRosear, of Hamilton, Ill.; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Morris Trabert, of Sigourney.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and husbands, Harley and Darrel.
