Failure to yield nearly caused accident Tuesday

Failure to yield nearly caused a collision at the intersection of Locust and Green Streets in Mt. Pleasant Tuesday.
On Tuesday, June 18, Lawrence Haynes, of Mt. Pleasant, stopped at a stop sign at Green and Locust Streets and began turning south onto Locust. A motorcycle traveling south on Locust, operated by Robert Griffis, of Mt. Pleasant, nearly crashed into the vehicle, but Griffis was able to lay the bike down in the intersection and received minor injuries as a result.
Haynes was cited for failure to yield upon a left turn. Henry County EMS assisted on scene.
