Relay for Life representatives Michelle Rauscher and Stephanie Hubbard spoke to the board about using the show arena, activity building and midway. The board approved donating use of the grounds to the organization.
Also at the meeting, department superintendents were elected for the new fair year, and the spring sponsorship drive, which was down from last year, was discussed. The sponsorship committee will take additional steps to attempt to get donations back in line with the previous year.
The board also briefly discussed the Greater Jefferson County Foundation grant that will be use to pave part of a parking lot north of the Iowa State University Extension office. Another project the board will look into is adding onto the Activity Building with room to store chairs and tables.
