The Washington County Fair Association met Wednesday night and discussed whether or not to charge admission to the members of the model railroad club, who operate a station at the fairgrounds. The board voted to allow the railroad club to enter without a fair pass provided the member shows the ticket-taker a current membership card to the railroad club.
There was a discussion about how to charge for trailer parking south of the track. The board voted to award the parking spots on a ?first come, first serve? basis beginning at 9 a.m. on Saturday, July 17.
The board also voted to instruct the food vendor ?Tailgate Toby? to begin serving at 5 p.m. during the week of the fair, which will be from Sunday, July 18 through Friday, July 23. ?Tailgate Toby? is a new food vendor to the fair.
The board members agreed that they need to purchase rain insurance again this year. A number of members said that the fair could not afford to go without rain insurance if rain were to cancel one of the major events such as the Motorcross.
