Nov. 15-Dec. 24; Shop & Be Merry

Nov. 29-Dec. 21; Ho Ho Ho Holiday
Embark on a whimsical adventure with festive activities like decorating ornaments and photos with Santa, a stroll through Whoville to visit the Grinch, and magical experiences in the world of Harry Potter, including potion-making and sipping butterbeer, all filled with fun and memorable photo opportunities!
Nov. 29-30, Dec. 6-7, Dec. 13-14 and Dec. 20-21, from 5:30-8 p.m. $15 Admission. Event held at 401 W. Stone (Lincoln Center). Hosted by JC Huffman.
Nov. 29; Holiday Lighting on the Fairfield Square
The Fairfield Square has become host to many holiday traditions over its long history, but none is more eagerly anticipated than the annual celebration when families gather to watch the Square come to life. Be sure to stop in to see Santa Claus in his special house (and get on his “nice” list!). Lights turn on at 6 p.m., and will come on every night between now and Christmas.
Santa in Downtown Fairfield
Santa will be waiting for you in his house in Downtown Fairfield. Free cookies and cocoa. Hosted by Fairfield Chamber of Commerce. Event will be every Friday and Saturday from Nov. 29 through Dec. 21, from 6-8:30 p.m.
Nov 30; A Christmas Carol
This classic tale by Charles Dickens is brought to life on stage, following Scrooge's transformation from a miserly curmudgeon to a joyous benefactor through the visits of the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future. From 2-4 p.m. and again from 7:30-9:30 p.m. at the Fairfield Arts& Convention Center.
Dec. 6; Fairfield First Friday Carriage Rides
At the heart of the First Fridays event, a beautiful horse-drawn carriage will be waiting patiently to carry you around the square. With each gentle clip-clop of hooves, along with carolers and festive shoppers, the magic of the season will come alive! 6-8 p.m. on Fairfield Square.
Dec. 7; Christmas Open House and Bazaar
Visit the historic McElhinny House for their annual open house and bazaar. There will be lots of treats and crafts for sale, including their famous ham balls! From 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 300 N. Court St.
Dec. 7, Breakfast with the Grinch
Country Junction restaurant in Richland will host Breakfast with the Grinch from 8:30-10:30 a.m. Hot chocolate and donuts will be served, and kids will get to meet Santa and the Grinch. There will also be drawings for prizes.
Dec. 7 & 8; Holiday Tour of Homes
Unwrap the magic of the holiday season with our enchanting Christmas Tour of Homes.
This is a Sleigh-full of Festive Inspiration. For those with a passion for decking the halls, this tour of six Fairfield homes is your golden ticket to a treasure trove of ideas! Immerse yourself in a world of creativity and be inspired to craft your own winter wonderland.
Dec. 13 & 14; Christmas Light Showdown
Rev up your holiday spirit and help us crown the champions of the Fairfield Christmas Light Showdown by hitting the streets and voting for the BEST Holiday light display in town!
Maps and ballots will be available for download on the Visitfairfieldiowa.com website. Ballots must be returned by 9 p.m. on the 14th to be counted in the contest. Christmas Light Showdown sponsored by Mack's Automotive of Fairfield.
Dec. 13 & 14; Holiday Trade Fair
The Holiday Trade Fair is a one-stop holiday shopping event with over 60-plus local and regional craftspeople, artisans, and importers offering unique gifts and creations. Shoppers will find a great selection of unique handcrafted and imported products to select from. Friday, Dec. 13 from 5-9 p.m.; Saturday, Dec. 14 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Fairfield Arts& Convention Center.
Dec. 14 & 15; Chamber Singers Holiday Concert
Celebrate the spirit of the season with songs courtesy of the Chamber Singers of Southeast Iowa! Event is 7:30 p.m. at Golden Magnolia Sanctuary.
Dec. 24; Fairfield Rotary Christmas Eve Parade
Santa makes a special appearance in Fairfield before heading out on his whirlwind trip around the world. Track him through town or meet up with him on the Fairfield Square. Santa’s sleigh will leave the Fairfield Arts & Convention Center at 5 p.m.
