Pastors from several Fairfield area churches will be leading a time of prayer at 12:05 p.m. Thursday at the Central Park band stand to mark the 61st annual National Day of Prayer.
Everyone is invited to join the gathering.
In case of inclement weather, the local observance will be at First Baptist Church.
The theme for this year is ?One Nation Under God? from Psalm 33, verse 12.
Concerns ranging from natural disasters in the Midwest and beyond to the health and security of family and friends will be raised in prayer. International, national and local leaders and issues will be prayed for as well.
Pastors of the Fairfield Area Ministerial Association encourage everyone to spend some extra time in prayer Thursday, as prayer is an indispensable part of the national heritage.
