FAIRFIELD — The Fairfield Arts & Convention Center is hosting another installment of its Summer Sun Concert Series Wednesday when “The Boys” take the stage.
The free concert begins at 7 p.m. on an outdoor stage just east of the arts center on North Main Street. This will be the fourth of six outdoor concerts planned at the arts center this summer, which occur every other Wednesday through Aug. 11. In the event of rain, the concert will move indoors as it did on June 30 when Kevin Burt performed.
According to the arts center’s promotion materials, The Boys “cook up the best of country, add a generous serving of their own originals, and sprinkle in a dash of classic rock for an experience that brings the house down. Good thing they're playing outside.”
The Boys consist of brothers Adam and Lee Klett with friends Kevin Robinson and Jarod Conrad. They are self-proclaimed “hillbilly rock stars” combining the twang of country music with classic rock.
“The Boys bring an arsenal of their own original tunes,” states the arts center’s website. “Performing is the highlight of their day, especially for their loyal followers.”
The Boys’ songs have been recognized among the best in Iowa and get radio play on multiple stations.
“They bring a party with them everywhere they go by playing music you can't help but dance to with energy that's contagious.”
The last two outdoor concerts in the Summer Sun Series are Awful Purdies on July 28 and Nicholas Naioti on Aug. 11.
