FAIRFIELD – Fairfield High School student Tristen Garretson finished his Eagle Scout project this fall, which included painting the hand railings, parking lot lines and curbs at the Fairfield Community Center.
“I knew the community center was low on funds,” said Tristen on why he chose that as his Eagle Scout project. “My family knows several board members. We knew it would help the community.”
Tristen is the son of Nicole and Joe Garretson. He said the three of them, plus his sister, his grandfather and another Boy Scout named Cooper Kraft, all helped with the project. In addition to painting, the group installed a fence and patched several concrete curbs. Tristen, who has been in Scouts since Kindergarten, said the entire project took over 80 hours.
