FORT MADISON ? The Fairfield boys? soccer squad stopped a two-game skid with a much needed 3-1 victory over Fort Madison Tuesday.
For head coach Felisto Guezimane, the performance had been a long time coming.
?It was good to see the team playing the style of game we?re expected to,? Guezimane said. ?Hopefully we can build up from here.?
Stian Hoff, Kendall Mickels and Darrin Dimmitt scored the three goals for Fairfield, with assists coming from Mickels and Roan Bachar. Senior goalie Aidan Bachar tallied five saves.
Guezimane saved praise for a host of players whose contributions didn?t show up on the stat sheet.
?Good performances by Jaimini Boender, Mason Carnaham and Jessy Carlos in the midfield,? the coach said. ?On defense, Nathan Barker was solid as usual. Tommy Price also played very well in the back.?
?It was a very good team effort,? Guezimane added.
Next up for the Trojans (7-3, 4-1 SEC) is a home matchup Thursday vs. conference rival Mount Pleasant. The Trojans won the teams? first meeting 3-0.
