Fairfield Chamber elects new president, adds directors

The Fairfield Area Chamber of Commerce has announced that it is welcoming four new members of the Chamber Board of Directors, and that the board has elected a new president.
At the annual Board Retreat, Michael Parker of TrafFix Devices was selected to be the president of the Board for 2023. Denise Hall of Fairfield Dental Clinic was named president-elect and will begin her term as president in January of 2024. Additionally, Joneane Parker has joined the Chamber Executive Board. Joneane is a trustee at Jefferson County Health Center.
Ryan Holthus of Shelter Insurance, Claire Reid of Willow & Bright, Jill Kordick of Jefferson County Health Center, and Jeff Ring of Dexter Laundry began their first three-year board terms in January 2023.
Ryan Holthus grew up in Fairfield, and for the last 10 years has been owner and operator of Holthus Insurance Agency LLC. He lives in Fairfield with his wife Brittany and their three children. Ryan serves on the board of directors for the Fairfield Elks #1192, The Walton Club, The Jefferson County Pheasants Forever, and serves as the secretary and treasurer for the Fairfield Volunteer Fire Department. Between supporting his children in their activities, Ryan enjoys spending as much time outdoors as he can. He looks forward to helping the Chamber and celebrating the small business’s that make Fairfield great.
Claire Reid grew up in Fairfield and attended Fairfield High School, graduating in 1996. She attended Indian Hills Community College, where she obtained an associate’s degree in nursing in 2001. She also attended Chamberlain College of Nursing, receiving her bachelor’s in nursing. Claire worked locally as a registered nurse until 2022, when she made a career shift into retail opening her clothing boutique, Willow & Bright. Claire lives in Fairfield with her husband Brian. They have four children: Jordan, Lane, Avery and Parker. In her free time, Claire enjoys reading, taking walks and puzzles.
Jill Kordick is currently a Project Manager at Jefferson County Health Center. She is a new resident to Fairfield. She is a dog mom with two 6-month-old cocker spaniels named Ellie and Annie. Her career has been in health care, where she has held a variety of leadership roles in both the hospital and clinic settings. She has been a Chamber Ambassador and active in connecting with businesses to support their health care needs. She looks forward to meeting people and investing in our community.
Jeff Ring is a buyer at Dexter Laundry. He moved to Fairfield in 1986 and graduated from Maharishi School in 1993. He has worked for several companies including Books Are Fun, Chappell Studio, Cambridge Investment Research and now Dexter Laundry. Jeff lives in Fairfield with his wife Jessica. They have two children, Alexis and Cooper. His full time job is chasing his son around at all his sports and activities. In his free time, you can find him helping with Little League, his son’s Cougars baseball team, bowling or golfing.
“We’re excited to add these dynamic professionals to our board,” said Chamber Board President Michael Parker. “Each of them has a vision for the community and a heart for service, and we look forward to their contributions.”
One outgoing Chamber board member completed their service in December 2022. The Chamber extends its heartfelt thanks to Kathy Thornton with Community First Credit Union. Thornton will continue as a Chamber Ambassador.
The Fairfield Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors also includes Board Treasurer Alex Simmons with TD&T CPAs and Advisors, Davis Lowenberg of Century Insurance, Ryan Swanson of Pilot Grove Savings Bank, Carrie Lathrop of Cambridge Investment Research, and Mark Swan of Iowa State Bank.
