Fairfield Chamber seeks nominations for awards banquet
Feb. 16, 2023 12:15 am
FAIRFIELD — The Fairfield Area Chamber of Commerce will hold its Annual Awards Banquet April 20 at the Fairfield Arts & Convention Center.
Doors open at 5 p.m. with dinner served at 6:30 p.m. The awards ceremony will begin at 7:30 p.m. and wrap up by 9 p.m. Reservations are $40 per person. Full and half table reservations are also available.
The event celebrates the accomplishments of the Fairfield Area Chamber of Commerce, its Chamber members and the Fairfield community. This year’s theme is “The Future Looks Bright,” and the anticipated dress code is “formal with lots of bling and blitz.”
The awards banquet is meant to recognize those individuals and businesses innovating and investing in the community. Some of the categories that the Chamber gives awards for include business improvements and lifelong accomplishment.
The Chamber invites the public to nominate members of the community and businesses for the 15 awards that will be handed out that evening, in addition to awarding the premier honor of Citizen of the Year. Nominating letters should explain why the individual is deserving of the award.
“The reason you love them may not be something we know,” said Fairfield Chamber Director Mendy McAdams. “Don’t miss your opportunity to shine the light on outstanding area businesses and leaders.”
Nominations are due by Feb. 24.
McAdams said that the Citizens of the Year are chosen by previous winners, and they are chosen based on their outstanding volunteer service that contributed to the betterment of community life in Fairfield.
McAdams added that the Chamber will unveil a new award this year, “Ambassador of the Year.”
“Volunteers are the lifeblood of our community,” she said. “These servant leaders make events happen and they move behind the scenes to improve the lives of Fairfield citizens. The Chamber will celebrate these individuals at the awards banquet. Our board members, ambassadors, and committee members are all dedicated and imaginative.”
Don’t miss your opportunity to enjoy an evening of celebration with those making the Fairfield community a great place to be. Make your reservation by contacting the Chamber at Info@FairfieldIowa.com or by calling 641-472-2111. The Chamber office is located at 204 W. Broadway Ave. in Fairfield.
