The Fairfield Rotary Club has announced that it will move its Christmas Eve festivities indoors to accommodate the frigid temperatures predicted for Saturday.
Rotarian John Loin said the club was planning to do its annual Christmas Eve Parade like it has every year for more than 90 years. Instead of canceling the event altogether, the Rotary Club decided to move the outdoor event to the Fairfield Arts & Convention Center.
From 5-6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Santa and Mrs. Claus will welcome children to sit in the sleigh where they can take photos and receive candy. Hot apple cider will be served, too.

Due to forecast low temperatures on Saturday, this year’s Christmas Eve festivities have been moved from Central Park to the Fairfield Arts & Convention Center. (Andy Hallman/The Union)
