FAIRFIELD — During Monday night’s Fairfield City Council meeting, Fairfield City Administrator Doug Reinert updated the council on the progress city staff are making on repairing the floors in the locker rooms at the Roosevelt Recreation Center.
The new floors were installed in March, but staff began to notice staining on the floors. Fairfield Park and Recreation Director Calvin Todd asked the company that installed the floors to come back to fix the staining, and though they spent at least a day on the problem, the company was not able to remove the stains completely. The company is considering putting a re-sealant down to see if that will fix the problem.
“It’s not going as fast as we would like,” Reinert said. “[The floor] has passed inspection. It’s just a discoloration. It’s just cosmetic.”
Reinert said Todd is doing everything he needs to do to preserve the warranty.
“Calvin has worked hard trying to resolve the issue,” Reinert said.
Reinert said he would continue to update the council on the progress of returning the locker room floors to their original condition.
