Fairfield High School crowned its Homecoming King and Queen, Ousman Saine and Ella Holderbaum, during the Thursday Night Pep Rally on Sept. 26 at Trojan Stadium.
The following day, members of the Trojan football team loaded onto fire trucks for the Homecoming Parade, which also featured other fall sports teams and school clubs such as the volleyball and cross-country teams, FBLA, SkillsUSA, E-Sports Club and band.
The four high school grades competed for best Homecoming float, and that contest was won by the junior class. The parade started at the high school and went past Washington Elementary School, Fairfield Middle School and Pence Elementary School before finishing in downtown Fairfield.
In Central Park, the band performed the school fight song, the cheerleaders performed a routine, and the Homecoming Court took the stage. In addition to King Ousman and Queen Ella, this year’s court included girls Avery Morris, Lilly Bergren, Jolie Crile, Cassidy Mallinger, and Ashlynn Drollinger, and boys Niko Emerson, Josh Mineart, Gabe Tejada, Dylan Adam and Riley Perkins.
To finish off the Homecoming festivities for the afternoon, Trojan football head coach Matt Jones gave a pep talk and spoke about the importance of unity.
