Fairfield declares snow emergency

Due to predicted weather conditions for Thursday, Dec. 22, the City of Fairfield has declared a snow emergency that day.
On street parking is prohibited in the downtown, an area stretching from 2nd Street to B Street and between Washington Avenue and Hempstead Avenue. The hours of prohibited parking extend from 8 p.m. Thursday to 9 a.m. Friday, Dec. 23, and again the following night from 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 23 until 9 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 24, or until the street is plowed curb to curb.
Vehicles on all other streets are limited to 24 hours at a time, and are encouraged to park off the street during snow plowing.
