Fairfield Farmers Market to host ‘Art at the Market’
FAIRFIELD — The Fairfield Farmers Market is showcasing the town’s top artists this Saturday, Oct. 7 in an annual event known as “Art at the Market.”
The event will run concurrent with the farmers market from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Howard Park and feature booths of Fairfield’s most renowned artists. Artists who are expected to present their creations include John Schirmer, Sandy Stimson, Holly Manon Moore, Jenny Sammons, Wendy Stegall, Karla Christensen, Demerie Faitler, Diana Watt and Sarah Larson, among others.
Fairfield Farmers Market Master Deanna Julsen said this is not intended as a “fancy art show,” but an opportunity for Fairfield artists to show off their works of art.
Julsen said Stacey Kitakis was the person who got the ball rolling on hosting a fall art gallery.
“She had this arts and craft show called October Morning,” Julsen said. “The weather is usually beautiful this time of year. I just thought it would be a nice time to have an art show, and that we could integrate it with the farmers market again. We’re supporting the farmers market and supporting the artists.”
