Fairfield fire truck plans updated
The Fairfield Fire Department will purchase a new tanker from Midwest Fire of Luverne, Minn.
Since Monday, Fairfield Fire Chief Ralph Hickenbottom has learned the demo-unit the city intended to purchase has already been sold. Fairfield will, however, be able to purchase the new truck at the same discounted price of $186,854.
Also, only the department?s 1982 Ford tanker will be put to use by other city departments.

Also, only the department?s 1982 Ford tanker will be put to use by other city departments. The fate of the 1987 pumper truck that is to be replaced is yet to be determined.
