FAIRFIELD — Fairfield First Fridays Art Walk will hold its second outdoor art walk of the season on Friday, and residents are encouraging to bring their dancing shoes.
The theme of Friday’s art walk is “Dance through the Decades” and will feature a D.J. spinning your favorite summer hits, from the 60s to the present day.
In addition to the great music, residents can check out the local art and craft vendors, lawn games and more. The event is free and lasts from 6-10 p.m. in Fairfield’s Central Park.
Jefferson County Trails Council will announce the winners of the annual Scavenger Hunt. This year marks the 8th Annual Scavenger Hunt on the Jefferson County Trails system. This year’s theme was “Wordle,” and required participants to solve a Wordle-like puzzle to help them find each of the 10 punches hidden throughout the loop trail.
There also will be an announcement of several youth in the community who have been nominated for being great community members. They will be recognized at the beginning of the event.
Carnegie Historical Museum will continue its presentation of Heritage Farms in Jefferson County. The museum will be open from 6-9 p.m. For this art walk, the museum will honor the Doug Johnson-Dee Johnson Sandquist farm. The interview with family members will begin at 6 p.m.
The Carnegie Historical Museum will be highlighting one Heritage Farm per month. Heritage Farms are those which have been in the same family for 150 years of more. Jefferson County has 14 farms which have received this recognition. The museum has established a special exhibit case so that each family, in rotation, will have the opportunity to share their story and display their special artifacts. Each Heritage Farm will have their display for a one-month time period and the following month’s First Friday will feature the next honored farm family.
