Fairfield freshmen bury Mustangs
The Fairfield freshman football team picked up its first win of 2012 with a 48-16 rout of Davis County prior to the varsity contest Friday.
Jordan Reid rushed for three touchdowns, threw for another and scored on a pair of two-point conversions. His 149 rushing yards on 19 carries were tops on the team, and he went 3-for-5 passing for 67 yards.

The Fairfield freshman football team picked up its first win of 2012 with a 48-16 rout of Davis County prior to the varsity contest Friday.
Jordan Reid rushed for three touchdowns, threw for another and scored on a pair of two-point conversions. His 149 rushing yards on 19 carries were tops on the team, and he went 3-for-5 passing for 67 yards.
Other Trojans getting in on the scoring Friday included Zach Martin, who scored a touchdown and went 88 yards on 11 carries, and Jake Unkrich, who carried the ball six times for 81 yards and a score. Trevor Drish rushed for 39 yards and a touchdown, and Alex Crile found the end zone once with three catches for 67 yards.
Defensively, Martin tallied a team-high eight tackles, while Drew Stever had five tackles and a fumble recovery and Reid totaled four stops and an interception. Drish, Crile and Robert Cupp had four tackles each and Joe Wilbur made three stops.
The ninth-graders are again at home to open district play against Washington this Friday.
