In a celebration of women’s golf, the Fairfield Golf & Country Club and Walton Club hosted the inaugural Diva Cup tournament on Sunday, Sept. 29, showcasing the growing enthusiasm and participation in women’s golf. This event brought together members from both clubs for a friendly competition, highlighting camaraderie and skill on the green.
The Diva Cup, a women’s braggart's cup, saw impressive attendance. Players showcased their talent and sportsmanship, embodying the spirit of competition and community among local women’s leagues.
“The energy and excitement at the Diva Cup was great,” said Hattie Peck, a representative from Fairfield Golf & Country Club. “We’re thrilled to see so many women come out to play, connect, and celebrate the sport we love. This tournament marks a significant step forward in promoting women’s golf in our area, and everyone was generally just glad to be there.”
The day was filled with laughter, friendly rivalry, and memorable moments, as players from both clubs vied for the coveted Diva Cup. The event encouraged participation from all skill levels, and reinforced the idea that golf is for everyone.
As women's golf continues to rise, both clubs are committed to fostering an inclusive environment where female golfers can thrive and grow. The success of the Diva Cup is a testament to this.
