FAIRFIELD – The Fairfield Goodwill Store hosted a bevy of activities on Saturday to celebrate Easter as part of its “Hoppy Hoppy Joy Joy Easter Egg Hunt.”
The store held an Easter Egg Hunt and had other games for kids such as a ring toss, where kids earned candy and prizes such as bubbles, glow bracelets and pinwheels. The week before, youngsters were encouraged to participate in a coloring contest of Easter eggs, and their pictures were put on display Saturday.
The Easter Bunny greeted patrons outside the front entrance. Adults joined in the fun, too, participating in the Easter Basket Drawing and Egg Prize Drawing. The store also had a special sidewalk sale that day.
Store manager Mary Barton said she was pleased with the turnout for the festivities, which included about 30 children participating in the egg hunt.
Barton said the Easter festival was something she spearheaded in 2019, and hoped to make it an annual tradition. She had to cancel it two years in a row in 2020 and 2021 because of the pandemic, and was thrilled to finally bring it back in 2022.
“Everybody is having a great time,” Barton said. “Our whole team enjoys giving back to the community as often as we can.”
