FAIRFIELD — Fairfield High School’s Homecoming King and Queen are Connor Hawkins and Carley Seeley.
The pair received their crowns during the Thursday night pep rally at Trojan Stadium. Last year’s queen, Ivy Larsen, was responsible for placing the crowns on the head of the king and queen as the members of the Homecoming Court stood in a line on the track, after they were introduced to the crowd. The crowd followed Larsen’s every step as she made her way back and forth along the track before stopping at Hawkins and Seeley.
“The fact that we were chosen by our class is so meaningful,” Hawkins said. “The work we put out, and the way we care for people, it means so much for people to see that, and accept us as king and queen.”
Seeley said she appreciated the show of support from the whole student body, “from the student sections to the band.”
“It’s such a big honor to see that they felt we deserved this,” Seeley said.
Thursday night was a night of multiple wins for Seeley, who was not only named queen but was also a member of the senior class’s powder puff football team that won the championship match against the junior class 16-0. The powder puff games are a series of flag football games between girls representing each of the four grade levels in the high school.
On Friday, Hawkins and Seeley were introduced again during the pep rally at Central Park after the Homecoming Parade. Members of the Homecoming Court rode in pairs in convertibles as they were greeted by students of Washington and Pence elementary schools and Fairfield Middle School, who gathered outside their buildings to watch the parade floats go by and grab some candy. The other members of the Homecoming Court were girls Maddy Jones, Addison Ferrel, Maya Lane, Willow Larsen and Savannah Hollander, and boys Carter Moore, Caden Allison, Cooper Polonsky, Bode Hoskins and Ben Boatright.
