Fairfield JV plays Rockets, Bloodhounds
The Fairfield softball team took two games from Fort Madison on Monday but found itself on the other side of the sweep Wednesday at Eddyville-Blakesburg.
The Trojans beat Fort Madison by final scores of 12-0 and 13-1 in a pair of four-inning contests. They then lost to Eddyville 10-2 in seven innings and 9-5 in six.

The Fairfield softball team took two games from Fort Madison on Monday but found itself on the other side of the sweep Wednesday at Eddyville-Blakesburg.
The Trojans beat Fort Madison by final scores of 12-0 and 13-1 in a pair of four-inning contests. They then lost to Eddyville 10-2 in seven innings and 9-5 in six.
Starting pitchers Mikaela Amendt and Delaney Neil led the Trojans to the two lopsided victories Monday. Amendt allowed two hits and one walk in the three-strikeout shutout, and Neil allowed one run on four hits while fanning five.
From the plate, Alyssa Fitch and Lindsey Repp had four hits apiece in the two games. Kelsey Roberts had three hits, including a double; Taylor Ferrel finished with a pair of hits and two RBI; and Harley Cook singled twice.
Repp, Fitch, Jasmine Elmore and Abby Adam finished with two singles apiece in the losses to Eddyville-Blakesburg. Emma Kuehl came through with a single and two-bagger.
