Van Buren County Sheriff?s Office will issue a press release, with charges, but some information is known that a vehicle stop Monday on the south side of Fairfield was the result of an alert issued from Van Buren County.
The sheriff asked neighboring counties to be looking for persons involved in a home burglary in Van Buren County. Fairfield officers spotted a gray van with at least three subjects ages 20 to 30 as described in the alert and stopped the vehicle.
When officers approached the van, the driver advised officers that firearms were in the vehicle.
Van Buren Sheriff Dan Tedrow was notified and arrived on scene.
Jefferson County Sheriff?s Office Chief Deputy Bart Richmond said today that no charges are filed in Jefferson County in connection with this traffic stop. Jefferson County deputies assisted Van Buren County in transporting the people in the van back to Keosauqua. The van contained an adult male, a juvenile male, two females and a child, said Richmond.
