Fairfield man arrested for burglary

FAIRFIELD — A Fairfield man has been charged with burglary after allegedly entering a home and destroying property inside.

Marcus Quetulio Losa Welch, 35, was arrested Sept. 29 and charged with burglary in the first degree, a Class B felony. The Fairfield Police Department received a call at 10:49 p.m. that day from a resident in the 600 block of South Main Street, indicating an unknown male had gained entry into a neighbor’s house.

Officers arrived on the scene and located a male in the home. They were able to detain him without incident. Officers discovered that the homeowner was inside the home when the male subject gained entry to the residence, and that the two individuals did not know each other.

“Officers located many items in the home that were damaged or destroyed,” the news release stated from the Fairfield Police Department.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the investigation.

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
