Fairfield man charged with assault

IOWA CITY - A Fairfield man was arrested Wednesday and charged with assault and breaking into a residence.
According to a report from the Iowa City Police Department, Justin Tolston, 28, is accused of going to a man's home in Iowa City, forcing his way inside, and punching the man in the face and strangling him when he tried to call 911.
Tolston was charged with assault, obstruction of emergency communications, and first degree burglary. His bond was set at $20,000, and his preliminary hearing was scheduled for July 29.
