Fairfield Memorial Day services canceled

The annual Memorial Day service in Fairfield will not be held due to concerns over the coronavirus.

Likewise, the Glasgow Cemetery Memorial Day service is canceled for the same reason. Glasgow Cemetery Board members remind the public that the cemetery's upkeep is supplemented from donations received from family members and friends of loved ones buried at the cemetery. Without those donations, the cemetery's upkeep would suffer. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, it's unlikely that a board member will be present to accept donations on Memorial Day weekend. Instead, those who feel so led to make a donation are asked to send checks payable to 'Glasgow Cemetery” to R. Bower, Treasurer, Glasgow Cemetery, 1506 Dogwood in Fairfield, IA 52556.
