Fairfield Middle School celebrated the end of the 2022-2023 school year Wednesday with its annual “Color Run.”
Students wear white T-shirts as they run a course outside the building, and along the way they run through plumes of colored powder that stick to their clothing. At the end of the race, they run through a giant suds machine, which was donated this year by Kristin and Paul Miller.
Fairfield Middle School Principal Laura Atwood said this is the fourth year the school has done the Color Run, which it had to postpone a few times during the pandemic. She said the school’s Leadership Cabinet hatched the idea.
“Kids request it every year, so it has become a tradition,” Atwood said. “The course is about a mile in length. Staff and students can run or walk the course. We added sprinklers and water into it this year, which made it much more fun. It's a great way to end the last day of school to celebrate everyone's hard work!”
