The Fairfield ninth-grade boys? basketball team dropped a pair of contests Friday and Saturday to Mount Pleasant and Ottumwa.

The Fairfield ninth-grade boys? basketball team dropped a pair of contests Friday and Saturday to Mount Pleasant and Ottumwa.
In the first game, the Panthers blasted Fairfield 55-31. Nick Jackson scored 13 points and tallied three rebounds, two assists and two steals. Logan Fleeman had eight points and three rebounds. Cody Craff had three points, while Tanner Deao, Narendra Martin and Cody White scored two points each.
In the Saturday game, Fairfield was toppled by Ottumwa 51-39. Fleeman led the Trojans with 12 points and six rebounds; Nick Jackson had 11 points, four boards and two steals; Cody Craff put up five points; and Austin Corrick finished the game with four points. Also for Fairfield, James Kyle had three points, and Drew Grunwald and Cody White each scored two.
