Fairfield plans virtual Veterans Day ceremony
N/A
Nov. 10, 2020 12:00 am
Fairfield High School will not be hosting a face-to-face Veterans Day Assembly this year as it has in the past.
Instead, the school will be providing a virtual Veterans Day Assembly that will be pushed out through multiple media sources at 5 p.m. Wednesday, such as the district's livestream on its website at fairfieldsfuture.org.
The virtual assembly will include speeches from retired U.S. Army Sgt. Jim Salts and U.S. Army Iowa National Guard Sgt. Alex Rebling. It will include past music provided by the Fairfield choir under the direction of Zach Reiter and accompanied by Fairfield band under the direction of Jim Edgeton.
Retired Sgt. 1st Class Jim Salts speaks during the Veterans Day ceremony Nov. 11, 2019, at Fairfield High School. Salts will reprise his role as master of ceremonies at this year's event, which will be held virtually because of the pandemic. (Union archive photo)
