Fairfield police alert public to phone scam

The Fairfield Police Department is alerting the public that if you receive a phone call from a local company that claims to be going out of business and demanding you pay a debt, to call that company directly to confirm that is the case.
The department has received information indicating that there are scammers who say they are from local businesses but are not.
