Fairfield schools dismissing early Friday
The Fairfield Community School District announced this afternoon it will be dismissing students at 1:30 Friday because of the hot weather.
Classes will begin at normal times Friday.

According to the National Weather Service of the Quad Cities, Friday's forecast calls for sunny and a high of 91, although Friday night's forecast includes a 60 percent chance of rain and a low of 71.

Fairfield Community School District has numerous ways parents/guardians can stay informed about weather-related announcements. Fairfield Schools is the 4th largest district in the state geographically. The decision to delay or cancel school is never taken lightly. The safety of our students and drivers is our biggest concern. If school is cancelled or delayed, it is the intent to have the decision made by 6:30 a.m., unless weather conditions warrant otherwise.
