Fairfield school?s teacher contract negotiations begin Thursday

The biennial contract negotiations between the Fairfield Community School District and the Fairfield Community Education Association will begin this week.

Representatives of both the school district and the teachers? association will meet at 7:15 a.m. Thursday at the Administration/Curriculum/Technology Center. The Fairfield Community Education Association will present its proposals for a new master contract for the 2014-15 and 2015-16 school years.

The representatives of both groups will meet again at 7:15 a.m. Feb. 18 at the A/C/T Center so the school district can present its initial offer in the collective bargaining process.

The two meetings are open to the public.

After the Feb. 18 meeting, school district and education association representatives will meet in closed sessions and no information will be released to the media until a contract agreement is reached.

A teachers? master contract is negotiated every other fiscal year.
