Fairfield to celebrate Oktoberfest Friday

FAIRFIELD – Though the weather might feel like the middle of summer, October is now upon us, and for Fairfield residents that means Oktoberfest.

Fairfield First Fridays Art Walk will celebrate the occasion from 6-10 p.m. in Central Park, and this year marks the 20th anniversary of the event. One of the staples of every Oktoberfest is the wiener dog race. Registration begins at 6 p.m., and races start at 6:30 p.m.

Entertaining the crowd all evening will be the band The Roman Cadillacs. Don’t miss carriage rides, lawn games, food vendors, crafters, kids’ games and more.
