Fairfield to host Renaissance Faire April 20-21

The Jefferson County Fairgrounds in Fairfield will host the Second Annual Fairfield Renaissance Faire Saturday and Sunday, April 20-21.

The event will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days, with a $10 charge per day for those 13 years of age and up, and free for those 12 and under.

“Join us for a day filled with knights, fairies, and fair maidens,” stated the group on its Facebook page. “Come watch a sword fight, try your hand at axe throwing and archery, get your face painted, go on a scavenger hunt, frolic with fairies, and stroll through the market and gaze upon the wondrous creations of our many talented artisans, crafters, authors, and magic makers.”

The group also asks attendees to bring a non-perishable food item to help fill the city’s Little Free Pantries.

“As a token of our appreciation, you will be rewarded with a small goody bag,” the page stated. “Mark your calendars and prepare for a day of adventure, laughter, and merriment! And though period attire is not required, do come dressed for the occasion…you may win a costume contest!”
