Fairfield whips Chariton 54-15
The Fairfield Trojans demolished host Chariton 54-15 on Thursday night as part of a tri-meet.
In the first contested match, Trojan Trenton Hanen, at the 220-pound weight class, pinned Taylor Good at 1:45.

The Fairfield Trojans demolished host Chariton 54-15 on Thursday night as part of a tri-meet.
In the first contested match, Trojan Trenton Hanen, at the 220-pound weight class, pinned Taylor Good at 1:45.
?Trenton had a very good takedown,? Fairfield head coach Steve Miller said.

?In that match, I was pleased that Brendon started to open up offensively,? Miller said.
Gannon Courtright earned six more points for Fairfield at 120 with a pin over Trae Hall at 43 seconds.
This was Courtright?s first-ever varsity match at the 120-pound weight class.
Later, the Trojans fell to Bondurant-Farrar 44-30; Fairfield was forced to forfeit two matches.
On the plus side, Hanen again earned a first-round pin. He defeated Bondurant-Farrar?s Scott Hutchinson in 37 seconds.
?Trenton just overpowered him in that match,? Miller said.
Lunsford then pinned Kolt Pitzen at the 56-second mark.
?Brendon was so solid in both his matches on Thursday,? Miller said.
Courtright earned his second win of the night, pinning Aiden Lewis at 1:48.
At 138, Trojan Derek Beasley defeated Kaeden Lozano in a 9-4 decision.
?Derek wrestled a strong match,? Miller said. ?He was steady and grinded out that win for us.?
Fairfield?s Bailey Jones (152) pinned Shawn Glaser at 1:45.
?Bailey was taken down, got out of that real quick and scrambled back for an impressive win,? Miller said.
Trojan Michael Fritz (195), currently ranked No. 5 in Iowa at Class 2A, defeated Louis Long in a 10-3 decision.
?It was another good, solid win for Michael and this was a win against a solid opponent,? Miller said.
Trojan Caleb Heisel won two JV matches against BF, one by pin the other by a 12-6 decision.
?Overall,? said Miller, ?our guys did a fine job on Thursday. I like that our guys continue to show that they won?t quit.?
