FAIRFIELD – Fairfield Interim Superintendent Stephanie Mishler has accepted a job as the new superintendent at Central DeWitt Community School District in DeWitt, Iowa.
Mishler will begin her duties at the school district just north of Davenport on July 1. Mishler has served as Fairfield’s interim superintendent since last July, after previous Superintendent Laurie Noll stepped down.
Mishler has worked in the Fairfield Community School District for the past six years. Her first four years were spent as associate principal at Fairfield High School. Mishler moved into the central office in 2022 when she became curriculum director, a position she held for one year before being appointed interim superintendent.
Mishler said her tenure as interim superintendent has been both challenging and rewarding, and the experiences she had solidified in her mind that she wanted to pursue a career as a superintendent.
“I’m so grateful for the opportunity to serve Fairfield,” she said. “Fairfield is filled with wonderful families, and we have the best staff. Those are the things I’ve come to appreciate.”
In February, the Fairfield school board voted to hire Zach Wigle as the district’s next superintendent effective July 1. Wigle has spent nearly two decades serving in education across Iowa. He has held various administrative roles, including district activities director, intermediate school principal, special education director, and, most recently, high school principal in Solon, Iowa.
