Fall programs at Fairfield Park and Rec
Punt, pass and kick competition set for Oct. 3
The Fairfield Parks and Recreation Department will be hosting the annual Place-kick, punt and pass competition at 11:15 a.m. Oct. 3 at the Dexter-Apache Soccer Complex.
Registration is now open for the event open to boys and girls ages 8-13. Top finishers in each age group will earn a chance to compete at the state competition to be held at the Iowa State indoor practice

Punt, pass and kick competition set for Oct. 3
The Fairfield Parks and Recreation Department will be hosting the annual Place-kick, punt and pass competition at 11:15 a.m. Oct. 3 at the Dexter-Apache Soccer Complex.
Registration is now open for the event open to boys and girls ages 8-13. Top finishers in each age group will earn a chance to compete at the state competition to be held at the Iowa State indoor practice facility on Oct. 24. Registration fee $5 and forms can be picked up at the Fairfield Parks and Recreation Center, 1000 W. Burlington Ave.
Adult Volleyball Leagues now forming
Registration is now open for Fairfield Parks and Recreation Department Adult Fall Volleyball leagues.
Play will begin the week of Nov. 23 with men and women power leagues playing Mondays and women recreation and co-ed leagues playing Tuesdays at Fairfield Middle School. Rosters will consist of 6-10 players ages 16 and above, but play may begin with as few as four players. A round robin regular season will be followed by a double elimination tounament.
Registration must include players? full name, address, phone number, age and e-mail and forms can be picked up at the Fairfield Parks and Recreation Department, 1000 W. Burlington Ave. Registration is $100 per team.
Turkey Trot coming in mid-November
The Fairfield Parks and Recreation annual turkey trot is now set for 9 a.m. Nov. 14.
Registration is $15 for those registering before the Nov. 6 deadline, $20 after for the 5K race of 1.2 mile fun run/walk. The 5K race will start at Pleasant Lake (Reservoir #2) with a turnaround before finishing back at Pleasant Lake. Top finishers will receive a turkey, and refreshments and a t-shirt will be given to all participants. Registration forms are available at Fairfield Park and Recreation Department, 1000 W. Burlington Ave.
