Fall Trail Drive Through is Oct. 17
Oct. 6, 2021 10:25 am
Jefferson County Conservation is helping to sponsor the annual Fall Trail Drive Through on Fairfield area trails from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 17.
“See the trails from the comfort of your vehicle,” noted a news release from the conservation office.
Start the drive at Maasdam Barns on the south side of Fairfield. Participants can then drive along the Fairfield Loop Trail before driving onto the Cedar View Trail. This will take participants across both the Highway 34 bypass bridge and the Cedar Creek Bridge.
Maasdam Barns will have Draft Horses at the barns and will offer several family friendly activities including corn shelling and rope making. The activities at the barns will start at 10 a.m.
Bring the entire family out to enjoy a portion of the Fairfield Loop Trail. This once-a-year drive-through is a favorite for many people, especially those individuals who are not able to walk or bike the beautiful trails.
Pre-registration is not required for this program. For more information, email Jefferson County Naturalist Brittney Tiller at Naturalist@JeffersonCountyConservation.com or call 641-472-4421.
Antique cars make their way through Whitham Woods in Fairfield during a previous Fall Trail Drive Through. Jefferson County Conservation will host the annual Fall Trail Drive Through from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 17.
