WASHINGTON— Washington Chamber of Commerce hosted the annual Hocus Pocus in the Park on a lovely crisp autumn Saturday.
“We were really steady all night, and the square was pretty packed,” Chamber Event Coordinator Alisha Davis said.
Adults and children that attended the event gave rave reviews.
“Trick or Treating is the best here,” Lawson Love of Ainsworth said as he snuggled up with a cup of hot coco from JT Sips and a cozy blanket to watch Hotel Transylvania 2 at the end of the evening.
The event attracted a number of new families.
“It was our first time,” mom of three Amy Allen said. “It was great because it’s not on Halloween night.”
The Allen family also grabbed their coats, blankets, and a bucket of mini donuts from Delovely’s Delicious Donuts so they could cuddle up and watch the Movie on Main feature.
Jennifer Barker brought her daughters Isabella, 5, Georgia, 3, and Evelyn, 14 months, to the event for the first time.
“I would give this a nine and half out of 10,” Barker said. “I really enjoyed it, but I wish it hadn’t been so chilly!”
Barker’s children enjoyed the pony rides, hayrack rides, candy, and loving on Thadd and Whitney Gray’s dog, River.
Overall, the event went off without a hitch and families enjoyed the time in the fresh air as a community.
