GLENVIEW, ILL. ? Family Video, the nation?s largest movie and game rental chain is taking a leading role in the fight against Lymphoma. For the fourth consecutive year, Family Video customers are invited to ?Round it up for Lymphoma? in locations between March 13 and March 29.
In the past three years, 100 percent of the $3.4 million dollars collected has been donated towards lymphoma research programs. ?Lymphoma is a disease that has touched the lives of many of our employees and their loved ones. With continued support of this biobank and the Lymphoma Research Foundation?s mission, we will be able to better understand why lymphoma develops, study how different environmental factors impact prognosis and treatment and provide educational services to those affected by this disease,? said Keith Hoogland, Family Video President. ?Our customers have shown their generosity about this cause in the past and we are excited for our company to be able to play this role in the fight against lymphoma.?
Advancements in research and treatment have been made possible by the efforts of dedicated customers and employees of Family Video. Local grassroots events and activities at Family Video build support for the campaign in the community they serve.
Lymphoma is the most common type of blood cancer in adults and the third most common in children. More than half a million Americans are living with the disease in some form and 220 more are diagnosed each day.
