Henry County Farm Bureau collected 500 pounds of non-perishable items during its March 24 Cram the Cab event at the Mt. Pleasant Hy-Vee.
Henry County Farm Bureau matched the collection weight with a check for $500 — $1 for every pound collected — and donated it all to The Fellowship Cup.
JJ Nichting Company donated the use of the tractor for the event, while Farm Credit Services of America supplied volunteers to ask trivia questions, hand out prizes and collect donations.
“Farm Bureau would like to extend a special thank you to Hy-Vee for allowing us to set up outside and collect donations … and the largest thank you to everyone that stopped by and donated,” Jaci Steffener, Des Moines and Henry County Farm Bureau outreach coordinator, said.
Ken Brown, executive director of The Fellowship Cup, accepts a $500 donation from Henry County Farm Bureau Outreach Coordinator Jaci Steffener.
