Saturday night, Feb. 12, was a special night for young girls in Washington. It was an evening of fun and enchantment with fathers and friends. The 4-H Father-Daughter dance at Dallmeyer Hall was for girls from Kindergarten to 4th grade.
“This event was hosted by the Washington County 4-H,” said Amy Green, organizer for the dance and ISU Washington County 4-H Youth Coordinator. “A lot of the girls that set this up tonight were from the 4-H Leadership Team. This event goes back to the Clover girls. That’s girls ages Kindergarten to 3rd grade that we work with throughout the year.”
“This had become a bit of a tradition,” said Green. “I’m not sure as to how many years that we have done this, but it is definitely something that the girls look forward to each year.”
“This is the second time I’ve been here,” said Jennifer Anderson. “My sister is wearing my dress from last year, since it doesn’t fit me anymore. This is fun to go here with my dad.”
