FHS Student Council organizes third Walk for Nohema
Apr. 28, 2024 9:15 pm, Updated: Apr. 29, 2024 10:36 am
The third annual Walk for Nohema was held Saturday, April 20 at Chautauqua Park in Fairfield.
The event raises money for a scholarship to honor the late Nohema Graber, a Spanish teacher at Fairfield High School who was killed in 2021. Members of the Fairfield High School Student Council have organized a walk to honor Graber each of the last three years, and this year’s walk raised over $2,000 from donations and proceeds from the sale of silent auction baskets.
FHS Student Council Advisor Heidi Grunwald commented that this year’s attendance was down from last year, likely owing to the cold weather that morning. Thirteen businesses and organizations donated baskets for the silent auction.
