Field set for primary election on June 7

Nomination papers have been filed and the Tuesday, June 7, primary election ballot is set in Henry County. There will be one contested race on the local level as three candidates, including two incumbents, are seeking two seats on the county board of supervisors.
In addition, Danny Graber and Ralph Holmstrom have filed papers as Republican candidates for the District 42 State Senate seat. The winner will face incumbent Rich Taylor in the general election. There also will be a general election contest for District 84 State Representative as incumbent Republican David Heaton and Democrat Carrie Duncan will be seeking the position.
Winners of their respective party nominations will square off in the Tuesday, Nov. 8, general election.

United States Senator (six-year term) ? Charles E. Grassley, Republican*; Thomas L. Fiegen, Democrat; Robert M. Hogg, Democrat; Patty Judge, Democrat; Bob Krause, Democrat.
United States Representative (two-year term) ? Christopher Peters, Republican; Dave Loebsack, Democrat*.
