Filling out ears
Rainfall last month while the corn crop was tasseling no doubt greatly aided the 2014 crop. Currently, ears are filling out as the crop enters the home stretch to harvest in another several months. Here, some plants are shown in a field near Mt. Pleasant. The soybean crop, meanwhile, looks good at this point but will need August rain as the plants will be filling pods this month.
